Peketā Campground offers something for everyone and their dog.
Peketā Campground is just 5 minutes out of town, has all the breath-taking mountain and sea views you would expect in Kaikōura and heaps more.
Peketā Campground has powered and unpowered sites. Cabin accommodation is available for couples and families and there’s wifi available if you need a “remote working” set up.
There’s plenty of room, and clean and tidy facilities are conveniently located around the campground. .
Families will love the playgrounds and Mini Golf. If you’re into fishing.. you can fish or launch your kayak from the beach and it’s just a few minutes up the road to South Bay where you can launch a boat. Back at the camp there are fish cleaning stations so preparing your catch is easy as.
The beach is popular with surfers, seals and dolphins, and for people just wanting to chill out and enjoy a walk beside the sea.
Peketā Campground is the best place to stay while you explore the Kaikōura region.

Beautifully selected Beachfront Sites overlooking the Pacific Ocean with Mt. Fyffe & the Kaikōura Ranges dominating the Kaikōura Skyline. Your own private picnic table, fresh supply of drinkable water and power on your site. These sites vary in size but suitable for either a Caravan or Campervan.
Beachview Powered Site

Beautifully selected sites set a little bit back from the beachfront that offer amazing views (sites more suitable for a campervan). Your own private picnic table, fresh supply of drinkable water and power on your site.
Cabin - Double
Maximum number of guests: 2
Cosy double cabin suitable for a couple. Double bed with fresh bottom sheet and pillows. Private sundeck with outdoor sitting area. Bathroom & kitchen are in close proximity. Linen available for hire. Ideal for travellers passing through Kaikoura. Note: you need to bring your own blankets with you.
Cabin - Double plus Single
Maximum number of guests: 3
Cosy cabin ideal for friends travelling together. Cabin has a double and single bed. Fresh bottom sheets and pillows are provided. Sundeck to relax outside. Facilities with toilets, hot showers, kitchen and laundry are in close proximity. Note: you need to bring your own blankets with you.
Cabin - Family
Maximum number of guests: 5
Larger family cabin includes a dual bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and single on top, with 2 single beds. Fresh bottom sheets and pillows are provided. Room to set up a Tent gazebo outside. Full facilities are close to cabin. Note: you need to bring your own blankets with you.
Grassed Unpowered Site - Unallocated

K Block is the most southern end of the camp and only opened up at peak season. A secluded area with easy access to the beach. These powered sites are setout in blocks of four and vary in size. Fresh supply of drinkable water & power supply.
